Inauguration of ‘Ayyankali Urban Employment Guarantee Scheme-Kerala – 06 June 2023
Shri. M B Rajesh, Hon’ble Minister for Local Self Government, Government of Kerala inaugurated the online Ayyankali Urban Employment Guarantee Scheme (AUEGS) – Kerala Portal on 06th June 2023 in a function held in the Chamber of Hon’ble Minister in the presence of Dr. Sharmila Mary Joseph, Principal Secretary(LSGD), Smt. Asha Varma K C, DDG & ASIO (NIC Kerala), Smt. Susy M, Scientist-E and Officials from LSGD.
Government of Kerala has introduced a scheme AUEGS to provide employment in urban areas by providing at least one hundred days of guaranteed wage employment at minimum wages in each financial year to every household whose adult members volunteer to do unskilled manual works, in the lines of MGNREGA.
AUEGS-MIS is an application developed by NIC Kerala capturing all details beginning with Labour budget preparation, Project creation, Registration of Job card, Work allocation based on estimation details from SECURE, Muster roll filling up to the payment to the beneficiaries. It helps in the effective implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the programme, and thus ensures transparency and credibility.
For work estimation of AUEGS works, SECURE (Software for Estimate Calculation Using Rural rates for Employment) is being used. SECURE is web based work estimation software developed by NIC Kerala for MGNREGA works and the same has been customized for AUEGS works.
In AUEGS – SECURE, the work name & work codes are received from AUEGS MIS in the concerned urban local body (ULB) AE/Overseer login after the approval of Labour budget. The AE/Overseer of the ULB creates the detailed estimate, includes drawings, location map and photograph of the works site before starting the work, using a standardized State specific Data and Schedule of Rates.
