TriD Empowerment An initiative of Kannur District



TriD is an initiative by the District Administration to make Kannur a technologically empowered District. TriD, aims at linking the three basic identities of a citizens – viz Aadhaar, Mobile Number and bank Account. This will set a base for the smooth government service delivery and cashless transfer programme. Major stakeholders of the project include: District Administration, District eGovernance Society, National Informatics Centre, Akshaya Kannur, Public relation Department Kannur and Bankers of Kannur.

Shri. Ramachandran Kadannapally, Minister for Ports, Museums, Archaeology and Archives, Government of Kerala had launched the TriD campaign on 8th January 2017 during a function held at Collectorate, Kannur. Shri. K.V Sumesh, District Panchayat President and Shri. Mir Mohammed Ali IAS, District Collector was also present.

District Collector presented concept note on TriD project and explained the advantages of the Cashless transactions and its utilization in daily transactions. Mobile Banking App BHIM was introduced during the function. Interactive Session was held to discuss various methods of cashless transfer.

Kerala Gramin Bank launched their Aadhaar based Account opening device.  Smt. E P Latha, Kannur Corporation mayor opened an Aadhaar based Account from Kerala Gramin Bank using the tab device. 

More than 500 participants attended the function including 300 NSS volunteers from various colleges as the flag bearers of TriD. District Collector directed the NSS volunteers to conduct similar campaigns in their institution for linking Aadhaar, Mobile number and bank account number of college students in association with other stakeholders.
