Inauguration of NIC Kerala State Centre Annexe Public Office, Thiruvananthapuram on 16-01-2017
‘NIC Kerala State Centre Annexe’ at Public Office Thiruvananthapuram was inaugurated by Shri. S M Vijayanand IAS, Chief Secretary, Government of Kerala by cutting the ribbon and lighting the traditional lamp, in the presence of Shri. M Shivasankar IAS, Secretary (IT), Shri. T Mohana Dhas, SIO Kerala, Shri. A T James, Commissioner(Land Revenue), Shri. K Ajayakumar, Additional Secretary(Finance), Smt. M Pennamma, MD(RICK) along with officers of NIC Kerala on 16th January 2017 at 02.30 PM. In his Welcome Address, SIO Kerala explained that the NIC Kerala Annexe Building was the sustained efforts from Chief Secretary and Additional Chief Secretary (Finance), Additional Chief Secretary (PWD), Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue), Secretary (Electronics and IT) and Chief Engineer (PWD). He informed that with the help of the NEW space it would be possible to ensure optimum utilization of manpower and resources and ensure better productivity and implement best practices. Shri. S.M. Vijayanand, Chief Secretary, in his address, appreciated the works done by NIC in the e-Gov space both in Kerala and across the country and emphasized that the recently allocated eight e-Gov projects from Kerala be given top priority and execute the projects utilizing the space and resources provided. These projects include: GST Kerala, IFMS, Ease of Doing Business, NFSA driven Ration Cards Management and Supply Chain Management, Revenue Recovery Management, etc. Earlier he recalled his association with NIC during the formation of NIC in Kerala and the signing of MoU between NIC and Government of Kerala and instructed both NIC and IT Department to complete the revised MoU in two weeks. Shri. M. Sivasankar, Secretary (Electronic & IT), Government of Kerala while recollecting his association with NIC from 1998 and the good works done by NIC hoped that the NEW space would pave the way for the optimum utilization and better productivity. Smt. M Pennamma, MD(RICK), who was instrumental in the design and development of the space for NIC and Shri. Ajaya Kumar, Additional Secretary (Finance) also spoke on the occasion. Smt. Asha Varma, STD & ASIO proposed a vote of thanks. The additional space now provided by the Government of Kerala has a built-up space of about 9000 Sq. Ft and has about 100 seats for Development, 44 Cabins of different sizes for officers, One Large VC room, two discussion halls, Dining Halls and NoC and UPS rooms.
